Blur (PS3)

While some titles like Gran Turismo focus on a real life driving experience, Blur does the opposite, offering a chaotic and somewhat ridiculous driving game. But that's what makes it fun.

Fun multiplayer; unique driving experience

Multiplayer lags once and a while; driving physics feel a little shallow

Blur

The realistic visuals and accurately modeled cars may lead you to believe the Blur is an action racing game in the Burnout mold, but this title from Bizarre Creations actually has more in common with Nintendo's iconic Mario Kart series.

Online multiplayer is awesome; in-race goals are fresh and set the game apart from other racers; power-ups allow for strategic depth

Blur

Bizarre Creations knows how to make a killer racing game. With games like Metropolis Street Racer and Project Gotham Racing, this Liverpool-based game developer knows a thing or two about making a worthwhile racing game. After a three year break, Bizarre Creations is back to doing what they do best.

Ever since racing games began people have been trying to force their opponents off the road in the desire to win. In the late 90′s, as physics engines were significantly improved, we saw the evolution of the "combat racer" from realistic racing games like TOCA and Metropolis Street Racer to...

In the gaming world, it is becoming increasingly common for games to cross the traditional boundaries in which they have so long existed. This not only affects games that jump genres, but also games that meld sub-genres. Enter Blur , the recently released racing title from Bizarre Creations.

Having had the chance to review Disney Interactive's racer Split/Second a couple of weeks ago, I was looking forward to my next arcade racing fix. Well I didn't have to wait long as Activision has released their first game produced by Bizarre Creations, who were once responsible for the Xbox...

Blur Review

Generally I'm one of the best gamers I know. I don't say that to brag - I say it to provide some context when I say that Blur, the new racer from developer Bizarre Creations (Project Gotham Racing), can be damn hard.

Blur Review

A powerful combat arcade racer with smooth handling and a slick interface. Good balance of action but some issues hold it back.

Blur Review

I didn't like the idea of Blur. Ever since I was told about Bizarre Creations' first game for Activision, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. I love PGR. PGR2 is one of my all-time favourite games and the studio's last game in the series, PGR4, is up there with the best racers available for the...

Blur Review

All in all, Blur is a pretty damn good racing game. The power-ups really make racing interesting and the speed and handling of modern non-cartoony vehicles is totally kick-ass. The graphics are beautiful but the soundtrack is pretty bland.
