Panasonic DMP-BD84

The Panasonic DMP-BD84EB-K smart network Blu-Ray disc player is a very basic entry-level player. It includes ethernet connectivity with simple Smart TV functionality (Netflix, YouTube and a few other apps), but no Wi-Fi support. It's super-compact, but over-priced at launch.

Great service

We ordered two of these as we had a voucher for £50. One for a present and the other for ourselves as ours was old slow and did Nov have blue ray either. So small light and compact easy to set up great definition too via HDMI link

Didn't last one month

Crashes every time you watch more than one episode on Netflix. You have to turn it off at the power and cross your fingers that it will turn back on. Usually takes 5 frustrating minutes. Don't waste your money.

Panasonic DMP-BD84EB-K

I'm sending the Blu-ray back it came without a remote it is a smart looking Blu-ray player the size of the Sky Q box for the bedroom if your looking for a space saving Blu-ray this is a must the only thing letting it down is no wi-fi you have to hard wire the Blu-ray player for myself is another...

Cracking value for a simple Blu-Ray player which is compatible with my TV (Panasonic), sound bar (Panasonic) and DVR (Humax); This replaced a DVD player which was scart-connected and this one is HDMI.

nothing bad; yet

Great player which has played every disc I've put in but it powers off too quickly if you pause or stop a disc. Even more annoying is that it doesn't save where you were on the disc so you have to reload and skip through to resume from where you were watching. Completely ruins this player.

Great apart from one thing

It's a blu ray/DVD player and it plays them well, no complaints. The only issue is the 'smart feature' it needs a wired connection and doesn't have a wireless option. You can buy smart TV boxes for a few quid that are wireless so it's disappointing as I don't fancy trailing wires all over the place...

Poor internet performance

It all seemed to work but the wired network was very poor. I tested the Ethernet on my Virgin TiVo and that was fine. The symptoms include a long start up of iPlayer, buffering and freezing. The menu system didn't seem straight forward and a bit clunky. There are very limited apps available.
